Learn about Say Yes to No: a Parenting Program to Raise Happy, Self-Reliant kids.  Self discipline is an essential character trait for academic and spiritual health.  The culture of "more, fast, easy, and fun" is eroding this key trait and causing an epidemic of DDD - Discipline Deficit Disorder.  The world and the economy has changed.  We need a new mindset and a new set of skills to live in this new reality and regain balance and control.

This structured conversation will look at blessings received, lessons learned, and opportunities ahead.  Leave this session with a new spirit of thankfulness, challenge, and hope. 

4:00 pm - 5:30 pm            Keischnick Lecture: Christian Education and Christians
                                          Educating -  Dr. Vernard Gant

The prospect of having a Christ-like influence on the education of urban, poor, minority, and educationally vulnerable children is through equipping God's educators in all educational venues.  Along with a focus on Christian Education, there must also be a focus on Christians educating.  Discover the vital interrelationship between the two concepts.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20

9:00 am – 12:00 pm        Post Katrina Disaster Tour - Kathy Wendling ($10 charge)

Take a bus tour of post-Katrina New Orleans.  Sites will include the original levee break as well as the Lower Ninth Ward.

 Servant Opportunity at City Park or Holt Cemetery - Camp Restore ($10 charge)

Bus into New Orleans' City Park or to Holt Cemetery (a pauper's field adjacent to City Park) to work outdoors on various projects.  (Work clothes required.)
